Machu Picchu terraces below a misty peak
Machu Picchu, Peru. A steep, forested peak rises over the stone terraces of the citadel, with wisps of mist creeping across its rock face. In front, two small stone huts with thatched roofs sit at the edge of the retaining walls, and the grass on the terraces is bright in the sun. Darker ridges fade away on both sides, and a few white clouds drift across a clear sky.
