Tiled facade through a Lisbon alley

Series: Exploring Portugal · Digital

Through a narrow gap between two shaded walls, Lisbon houses climb the hill one above another. In the middle there's a facade covered in blue patterned tiles, with small iron balconies and tall windows, surrounded by terracotta roofs, chimneys and pale plaster. An old street lamp hangs in front, and washing is drying on a balcony near the top. The long lens squeezes it all into one dense, sunny patchwork.
