National Pantheon dome above Lisbon roofs

Series: Exploring Portugal · Digital

The white dome of the National Pantheon rises over a tight cluster of Lisbon houses, its lantern and cross clear against a blue sky. Below, whitewashed walls, small windows and terracotta roofs step down the hill in neat blocks, with a few plants and aerials on the rooftops. Everything is sharp, from the nearest roofs to the stone dome, and the white walls glow in the warm light.
