Column and rooftops of central Lisbon

Series: Exploring Portugal · Digital

A tall white column with a dark bronze statue on top, and behind it a hillside packed with Lisbon houses: terracotta roofs, ochre and pink facades and iron balconies stacked up to a large white church with a bell tower, half hidden by a row of umbrella pines. A bit of graffiti on one wall to the left. Under an overcast sky the colours stay soft, and you can see how tightly the old city fills its hills.
