Blue doors and white lanes of Lefkes

Series: Under the Greek Sun · Digital

A quiet lane in the village of Lefkes on Paros climbs between whitewashed houses to a small archway with a turquoise picket gate. Blue doors and shutters on every house, pots and a bright red vase on the steps, and a sprig of red bougainvillea leaning in from the left. The paving stones are outlined in white, and in front stands a red post marked with Greek letters and the year 1958. Soft, even light.
