Lifeguard tower and red flag on a hazy beach

A wooden lifeguard tower stands alone on a wide beach in Lima, a red flag flying from the top. Low, warm light turns the sky, the water and the wet sand cream, gold and brown. Waves roll in behind the tower, seabirds walk along the shoreline and a few more glide over the surf. Most of the picture is pale, streaky sky, which makes the tower look even lonelier against the open Pacific.
