The Matterhorn behind rows of skis
Series: Winter Scenes of Switzerland · Digital
The Matterhorn above Zermatt, a sharp pyramid of snow and dark rock against a soft grey sky. In front, wooden racks are packed with skis and snowboards of every colour, stuck upright in the snow; a blue board on the left and an orange ski in the middle are the brightest of the lot. Everyday ski gear, with one of the most famous mountains in the Alps behind it.
