Snowbound alpine valley under rugged peaks
Series: Winter Scenes of Switzerland · Digital
A wide view over snowy peaks in the Swiss Alps, ridge after ridge stacked up towards a pale blue sky. Between the slopes a deep valley opens up, and at the bottom of it you can just make out a few tiny buildings and dark patches of forest. The light picks out every rib and gully on the mountainsides, while the slope in front stays smooth and bright. Cool, washed-out colours, almost monochrome.
